Founed in 1993,
Zhejiang Farce Troupe is one of the subsidiaries of Zhejiang
Acrobatics General Troupe. In a few years after its establishment,
it has staged and performed a series of antimasks such as ¡¶Nail
a Lie to the Counter¡·, ¡¶Who is On Earth the Daddy¡·, ¡¶Through
the Broad Way¡·¡¢¡¶Two Envoys in Suzhou¡·,
¡¶Admit of No Delay ¡·and ¡¶Swan Disaster¡·in succession winning
great popularity among audiences of areas all over the country,.
Of them, ¡¶Who is On Earth the Daddy¡·was
performed for over 1300 times and in 1999 went to Taiwan for
performance together with ¡¶Two Envoys
in Suzhou¡·and achieved great success. Especially in 2001,
an instructive tragicomedy ¡¶Swan Disaster¡·in
particular received high opinions from countryside to capital,
from folk people to leaders of all levels and experts. Number
of showings of this troupe is more than 300 every year.
